Custom Carvin LB70 Bass Active-Passive with Hardshell Case 2000s Trans Purple

The LB70 is Carvin's longest-running bass model, and is a mainstay of the Custom Shop's made-in-the-USA bass lineup. This basic configuration debuted in 1988.  It's built to the highest possible standards with features found only on high-end and boutique basses, without the boutique price - a fully-custom USA-made bass at a price that can't be beat. The standard features on this particular bass include maple neck-through design, a 34" scale ebony fingerboard with white pearl dot inlays & 14" radius, 2-way adjustable truss rod with dual carbon-fiber rods for additional strength, 24 medium-jumbo nickel frets, Carvin premium bass tuners, matching finish headstock, and Hipshot SF4 bridge for stringing through the body or top loading.

Custom options on this bass include the HB Alnico bridge humbucker/J9A Alnico neck Pickup, active/passive electronics with coil splitter for the bridge humbucker, Swamp Ash body, gloss Translucent Purple finish, Black hardware, and Carvin hardshell case.  The current LB70 model with these options would cost new $1,269.00 direct from Carvin/Kiesel.

This instrument has been played but is stilll in good condition with a scrape on the bottom and a ding at the tip of the headstock(see the pics).  Otherwise in nice condition with just surface scratches/indents.  It plays exceptionally well and sounds awesome with an exceptional variety of tones available.  Overall a nice used American custom-made bass with exceptional active/passive electronics, through body construction, and hardshell case for around the price of a new Fender Mexican-made, bolt-on neck, passive bass with a gig bag.
