Custom Vintage Shakuhachi Kinko-Ryu Utaguchi 1940's

This jinashi flute has a coated bore and is primarily for meditation and the contemplation of the sounds. In the key of 'D' it has a nice pleasing woodsy sound. There are some repair marks on the utaguchi. The nakasuki joint has tight fit. The flute also has a nice soft tone. Because it is more narrow than the average shakuhachi, I do not recommend it for those just beginning to learn because a tighter embouchure is required. But because it is more narrow the upper octave is easier to reach and play. The flute has a nice feel and natural elegance to it.
I recommend this flute for the person who wants a companion to take on nature walks or for quiet evenings of contemplation.
