Product Description

What your checking out here is a Yamaha BB300 from the 80's, made from 1982 till 1994 (the BB300's made in the 90's had a slightly different looking headstock). Made in Japan or Taiwan, these basses were very solidly built instruments for the price back in the day.

maple neck with rosewood fingerboard
Seymour Duncan SPB-3 Quarter Pound P-bass pickups
passive controls - 1 volume, 1 tone (control pots are original to the bass)
hi-mass bridge with brass saddles
the cavity and pickup routes are shielded.

The bass will come with a wide adjustable strap, some rubber Fender strap locks, and a thickly padded canvas Levy gig bag. Currently, the bass is strung with heavy gauge GHS Boomers and set up for tuned-down-a-half-step playing (Eb, Ab, Db, Gb), and the finish is metallic-red (it is a bit "road worn" and the bass more than functional - see pics). I had the bass set up professionally by a reputable local technician, so, the neck, truss rod, and frets are in good playing condition (to my hands and playing style, I don't have any fret buzz issues with this bass). The original owner sent it to me in pieces; between myself and my tech we got it cleaned up, upgraded, and set up beautifully - it turned out very nicely. There is a ding/chunk on the edge of the fingerboard on the G-string side (4th or 5th fret) - it doesn't affect playability or feel. Despite the road worn look of the bass, it looks awesome, and it is a tank of an instrument that is ready to perform and be recorded.
