Custom C. F Martin Vintage Tenor Ukulele circa 1948

Circa 1948,  I've estimated this ukulele to date between 1934-1962 for the following reasons: T-frets which started in 1934 and it's interior stamp does not contain, "Made in the USA" which starts in 1962.  The actual date will be somewhere between those two dates.  I just picked the mid-point.

Looking at all the Martin Vintage Tenors on Reverb,
this one is hands down the best offering.

At some point in this ukulele's past, it appears there was a repair on the bottom where the top meets the sides.  I have done my best to capture this in the photos presented.  Looking at the repair from the inside everything is clean and looks fine, it is the outside where there was light sanding  and the instruments appearance suffered ever so slightly as a result.The interior brand is present and absent of "Made in the USA"Martin Logo on Headstock is picture perfect with Gold Lettering & Black OutlineThe ukulele appears to be the original finish with no over spraying.  Their no alligatoring to the finish as you would expect with an instrument of this age.  Other than the bottom as mentioned and few nicks and such, the finish is well spectacular. Visual inspection: No warping is present, braces are secure the neck is straight.Tapping Inspection: instrument resonates nicely and evenly with no sharp noises from lose braces present.Minor scratches and scuffs as you'd expect with an instrument.  No gauges or dents.Playability:
As you'd expect, a nice vibrant tone that resonates nicely.Near perfect action with G String action measuring 2.5mm and the between 2.5-2.75mm on the A string (both at the 12th fret from the top of the fret to the bottom of the string).  Depending upon your personal playing style it may benefit from a professional set-up. I am a collector and dealer of vintage instruments with a particular focus on ukulele.  On occasion other instruments come into my possession.  I curate only fantastic examples of quality instruments from iconic makers.  More than often, the original as found condition is what is presented here.  I prefer slight wear to the finishes to authenticate that they are original.  I do not like to have work done to my instruments unless necessary for playability or to stabilize a potential deteriorating condition.  Unless noted, I haven't had these instruments touched in any way since they've been in my possession.  I am always happy to meet serious buyers for you to play before you buy.
