Custom Kala KA-SRT-MA Mike Aratani Commemorative Tenor Ukulele

Michael Aratani was a well-known name and personality in the ukulele community. A native Hawaiian, Mike was full of Aloha Spirit. Perhaps best known for selling ukuleles online, later in life Mike returned to his native Hawaii to continue helping interested and burgeoning ukulele enthusiasts alike find the right ukulele for them.

Mike was a fun and passionate person. Full of life and excitement; he carried this over to his joy and love for the ukulele. Mike could be found sharing his appreciation for the ukulele at festivals with a smile on his face. A natural teacher, Mike found time and energy to share his excitement for the ukulele with all.

Mike passed away all-too-soon in 2013, but his lasting legacy has left an immeasurable mark on the ukulele community. It was with his one-of-a-kind personality and spirit in mind that Kala was inspired to craft a Michael Aratani signature model tenor ukulele.

This one-of-a-kind tenor ukulele has a Solid Spruce Top and Solid Rosewood sides and back, as well as herringbone purfling and a unique checkered binding. This version has a slotted headstock - just adding to the striking sharp looks. The tone is truly impressive!
