1980’S CLOVER SLAPPER 5 STRING FRETLESS BASS GUITAR, HEADLESS, COMPOSITE NECK THRU, BARTS

Not much is known here in the US on this European bass manufacturer who had been at it for over 30 years designing and building unique basses with unreal sound and quality. Most known in Europe, those in the know worldwide know of these basses feel and performance. As an earlier model, this Slapper design was right in line for the times. A headless neck, super re-enforced bridge, the composite neck thru all the way to the bridge, and a set of active Bartolini pickups (original for the time) make this Slapper the killer it is. Other features include an ebony fretless board, a killer maple top and back with mahogany sandwiched between them. Strings lock at both ends with tuners on the rear edge of the brass bridge. This bass currently has a set of DR 5 String Black Beauties on it. Controls include Volume, Blend, 3 Band EQ and a mini toggle for active or passive playing. On the back of the body are 2 brass cavity plates to access the controls and for battery changes.

This 1980’s Clover Slapper 5 String Fretless Bass Guitar is a used item in VG- condition. This bass shows signs of extensive playing with the wear that you would associate with hard playing. The body is significantly checked on the lacquer finish. You will see some surface scratches on it too. The biggest issue is the chipped finish and mark around the input jack as pictured. The jack works fine, but the bump is visible. The brass parts show scratches and some rusting from those scratches. The ebony fretboard shows normal wear from 30 years of playing but still very intact and playable. The electronics and controls all work as they should. Finally, with the arched body and comfort curves, there are some odd light reflections that are just that, reflections. You will receive this item well-packed in a Carvin molded hard case, but without the original paperwork or packaging. Please contact this seller for additional information.
