Custom Bowelback Mandolin RWB 1890's

This is s beautifully made bowelback from the c. 1890's and branded with the RWB trademark. This may have been by Lyon & Healy for them, or perhaps by ex-L&H employees, as it uses construction of the ribs of the bowel that lacks any paper, canvas, or cloth insert and uses only glue from rib to rib to keep it built. This was a typical L&H build style during this time, though they stopped doing it after the turn of the century.
The top is spruce, the bowel is made of mahogany and rosewood, and the neck is mahogany. The bridge is rosewood and all the hardware is original, with nice 1891 patent tuners. Cool ivoride inset emblem with "RWB" and trademark. Tuners are ivoride as well. The board is ebony with bar frets and MOP dots.
This instrument is in extremely good condition considering its age. There are no structural defects noted. The neck is straight and attached firmly to the body and the bowel construction is flawless. New strings have been installed. Definitely a fine instrument for your collection. Please see attached photos and thanks for looking.
