The Michael Kelly Legacy MKLBSBO Mandolin is a top-of-the-line Michael Kelly mandolin.  The benchmark instrument from Michael Kelly, it all started fifteen years ago with our unique take on the F-style mandolin. We are proud to be the brand that freed mandolins from the same old sunburst rut. From exotic woods to special inlays we blazed a new trail. The foundation of all that, however, was and still is sound. We use classic building techniques and craftsmanship to deliver that vintage mando tone in this very modern package. The MKLBSBO is also equipped with one of our most in-demand features, a radiused fingerboard that is very comfortable to play. Many players feel that a radiused board improves their performance.  For improved tone, Michael Kelly has equipped this model with its propritary one-piece tailpiece that adds ring and resonance.  .

FAQ, frequently asked questions

Why are instruments sent to a refurbisher?  The instrument could be a discontinued model, have a finish imperfection, or need a minor repair.

Who refurbishes your instruments?  All of my instruments come from the largest and best refurbisher in the country, where any issue found is corrected by a factory trained and authorized luthier.

Does a refurbished instrument have the manufacturer warranty?  No, any instrument sent to a refurbisher, regardless of the reason it was sent there, no longer carries the manufacturer warranty.

Will I need to set up my instrument when I receive it?  All of my instruments have been set-up before shipping, so most are ready to play out of the box.  However some instruments may need a minor adjustment after shipping due to changes in temperature, humidity, and  getting bumped around during shipping.

What identifies an instrument as being refurbished?  All refurbished instruments have a small used stamp on the back of the head stock and are issued a new serial number.  This is to prevent an unethical dealer from concealing the fact that the instrument was sent to a refurbisher.
