Custom Rickenbacker 4003 2014 Jetglo

This bass was purchased brand new at Haight Street Music in San Francisco. I immediately knew I couldn't play it my way with the pick up covers as purchased, so I went about customizing it, adding a thumbrest and making a new plastic plating to surround the pick up. I never thought I'd need to sell it so I just went ahead and had some fun with it. The plastic is inexpensive so I knew that if I really cared, i could do it again, even after I cracked the piece I carved and didn't do a good job of that, either.

I still have the cover and the surrounding metal piece, so you can put it back if you want. Possibly you'd need new screws.

Anyway, at some point, I thought I might need to drill new holes for the pick up wiring, so there's some damage at the join of the bridge on the surface of the body. It's doesn't affect the sound or playability, to my knowledge. It looks like a crack but I don't think it is.

It has been played approximately 10 times live - I'm a Fender player so this was only used to see if it would work with my style. It doesn't, so, even though it's a fine instrument, it's not for me. Hopefully, it's for you!

Comes with the original hardshell case.
