This HiGuitarsUK Raindrop electric baritone ukulele is handcrafted from quality materials and components in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire, UK.

The combination of a white ash top, sapele mahogany layered thru-neck and hollowed out body wings balanced with Lace and Mighty Mite pickups helps create a versatile and great sounding instrument. While the vintage influenced styling, satin finish with vintage gloss top and quality chromed hardware combine to give a classy vintage yet modern vibe.

The scale length is an extended 22.5" (570mm) which will work well with the top 4 strings from a set of electric guitar 11s or 12s, tuned D-G-B-E with a low D. A set of D'Addario 11s with a wound 3rd is fitted at present.

22.5" is also a common tenor guitar scale length. So with suitable strings this instrument can also be strung as a tenor guitar, with the advantage of a compact size and a wider nut than most tenor guitars. Hence this could be thought of as two instruments in one - but not both at the same time.

Body: Sapele mahhogany wings bonded either side of the neck.

Neck: Sapele mahogany layered thru-neck - A thinner second layer of wood is added to the back of the neck for its transition through the body (see photos). Adjustment free low profile carbon fibre and stainless steel neck rod.

Fretboard: Hyedua with high grade 6.5mm mop shell fretboard dots and slightly oversize 2.5mm side dots (for better visibility). Fretted with hard American fretwire.

Electrics: In standard mode the Lace and Mighty Mite pickups are set up to work as balanced single coils across the 3 switch positions. But pull the tone control upwards and the mighty mite bridge pickup shifts into full humbucker 'rock-out' mode.
