Custom Selmer Super Rolls-Diplomat Trumpet, with Bb to C tuning, c.1930s, professionally serviced, in case

For sale is this fully serviced and refurbished vintage Selmer Super Rolls-Diplomat Bb/C trumpet. All the slides, valves and waterkeys are in working condition, with no leaks. The bell was dented and this has been professionally repaired. Felts have been replaced where required and the instrument cleaned and polished.

This trumpet has a tuning slide to convert the instrument from Bb to C tuning. The original silver plating is very worn, in some places down to the brass. There are also some buffing/cleaning marks on the original surface near the bell where the serial number (566) was scratched/engraved. So some of the original factory engravings have worn off. But this trumpet stands out as a beautiful piece of art deco instrumentation from the 1930s. Every little detail from the valve casing, finger buttons and screws are beautifully made with that art deco look.

The instrument says "FOREIGN" and "566" on the second valve casing. (I do not know where it was made and have only listed UK because I have to choose a country for the listing.) The valve springs are bottom working. There are a few very small dents in inaccessible areas. But overall this instrument is now restored to a loved and working condition. So despite its rough looks, it really looks great with its natural aged patina. The instrument was part of a job-lot destined for the scrap heap/parts. It has now been saved and is ready for a new owner to cherish.
