Product Description
Original lacq maybe 65%, and has gone that darkish brown which Martins often show. Added perk of a nice multitude of other hues, which Martins also occasionally exhibit. She has been given the full-on 2ndending.com treatment: disassembled, chem-bathed and hand polished, swedged, repadded, regulated. The bare brass areas came out of the cleaning session with a slightly rosy hue, and we left it there, as opposed to further polishing to a bare yellow brass.
Key plating is around 80%, a few touches show noticeable wear.
She arrived here missing a few posts so we took some donors from a '60's Martin Imperial. There are 4 post resolders, and 3 unoriginal posts. A key saddle required a resolder as well. These were done cleanly. Also... her spat rollers are replacements taken from the donor Martin, too. They are off-whte pearl, while the original table rollers are brown/black. C'est la vie...
Horn is in GOOD shape, there was virtually no dentwork needing to be done to her. A few very, very minor and insignificant dings here and there...some scratches, some spotting. Body plumb, tonehole seams nice and tight, toneholes level. Completely repadded with domed metal resos (except for one plastic reso pad I had to use b/c I ran out of that particular size). New corks, new felts. Keys swedged. Completely lubed and adjusted and playing nicely.
Has that signature Martin tone...nice and wide and dark, but with good edge and cut as well. Great horn for Jazz, Blues, Rock, Latin, Marching. A true classic.
Included is the '60's Martin case from the donor horn, in good usable shape with signs of wear on exterior, but really a very solid case.
