Item Description
The PFP-165 Piccolo is the next generation in world renown Pearl piccolos. Using the same Grenaditte body as the PFP105 that users have come to embrace as a free blowing 'easy to play' piccolo, Pearl has added a Grenadilla head to the new 165. While Grenaditte has many of the tonal qualities of Grenadilla, the addition of the genuine wood head joint greatly improves the warmth and tonal quality. The Grenadilla head also works wonders for intonation and blending into an orchestral environment.

Also upgraded were the pads in the new 165, now coming equiped with Omnipades. Omnipads are unique in that they have a three layer structure; a plastic backing, a harder foam middle layer, and finally the playing surface foam. These result in a very warm, but not bright sound, which is ideal for piccolo. The plastic backing also makes the installation much more accurate.

Still encorporating silver plated key mechanisms, split E key, french style pointed key arms and pinless mechanisms, the playability of this new Pearl 165 Piccolo is still sure to impress.
