Custom Vintage Shakuhachi with Carry Bag and Instruction Book

This is a wonderful traditionally crafted shakuhachi from Japan. In the key of 'C#' it is suitable for play in Japanese ensemble with koto and shamisen.
The shakuhachi comes with a finely crafted handmade flute case (made by Japanese woman), an utaguchi cover and a great beginners book on learning shakuhachi by Jon Kypros, Your Shakuhachi Journey.
I have also included a swiping cloth to eliminate moisture from the bore when practice time is over.

This instrument has a nice full and 'bright' sound with great balance and tonal range (3rd octave accessible).
The maker coated the bore with red urushi lacquer and the kinko style utaguchi (mouthpiece) has a black bone inlay. It has two very fine hairline cracks that were repaired professionally in Japan and are stable. Apart from the hairlines, the flute is in mint condition.
I recommend this instrument for the serious amateur or the up and coming professional.
