This is a very cool piece. This is a one owner Mandolin that was Professionally played. The owner took really good care of it and is on its second set of frets. It also has a couple of the tuner buttons replaced. They all should be replaced. They are pretty crumbly…I decided to not deal with the frets and the tuner buttons as I know some Mandolin Players would prefer to use their own shop for work on their instruments. That is all this Mando needs is some fret attention and some tuner buttons. The Gold Kluson Tuners work great. They just need new buttons. The replaced ones look old so they have probably been on there awhile.

This Gibson Mandolin toured the country while playing with many Country Western Stars…It was recorded on an album by Larry Heaborlin..see pic 12…it was also played in the bands with Marvin Rainwater, Susan Rae, and Tommy Cash. You can see a pic of the original owner Bill Ober on pics 12 and 13…Very cool history on this instrument.

This is a great playing Mando. I had Jeff the Tech go over it and set it up with a new set of strings. That’s all we did to it. The old strings were shot. It plays great with awesome fast action.

The Sunburst finish is original and has some finish crazing that makes it look really cool. The Gibson Tailpiece is still there and operating correctly and the original Orange Gibson Label with the model F5 and Serial Number are inside the sound hole. See pic 7…

The Case is in really good shape. The Gold interior is still in fine shape and no funny odors. The latches still latch and the original hinges and handle are still with it. A great Gibson Case for your Gibson F5 Custom…

This Mandolin is a piece of history as well as an awesome instrument to play. The finest Mandolin we hae ever had in our shop. I am very proud to be offering it to my customers.
