WHAT A NICE FIND - Good old 'Made in USA' Martin 'The Indiana' alto! Appearance is about what you'd expect from an intermediate level horn that has been played - plays reasonable well under the circumstance (pads are really about shot and need to be replaced for optimal performance).  Appears to have been dropped on the E flat key guard - still works but may want to straighten it out a bit for a better appearance. (typical instrument injury) - does not affect performance in any way, PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION & review pics. Unlike many imported intermediate level & similar horns, this particular model retains a value of $400-$450 if properly cared for and maintained in playing condition. I will even opine that the Martin alto makes a respectable back-up horn for the professional player as well.
      So, for your consideration - a Vintage 50s Martin Indiana Alto Saxophone Sax .   PLAYS but needs cleaning/lubrication for optimal performance!

    I play some tenor sax - not really great, mind you - and tested the horn. Hit all the notes - bottom to top, even with mediocre talent. My point here is that this tough old girl still works remarkably even with pads that are probably at the end of the road. Imagine how great this is going to be with new pads & cork!!
