Custom Hofner 500 / 1 Beatle Bass 1962 NOT A RE-ISSUE

FOR SALE: A 1962 HOFNER 500 /1 BASS, McCartney spec. Serial Number 462 Bass “right handed”,  McCartney spec refers to the year 1962,  which has the correct spec for Paul's bass, and the cosmetic appointments of the instrument, not the handing. Paul's bass even though purchased in 1963 has 1962 specs, 1963 basses had different specs and are NOT the same as Paul's bass. The bass is in excellent used condition with only normal signs of play wear. McCartney specs are: strip tuners, two piece neck, no neck binding, Hofner script logo decal, long tail piece with wide bar, staple pick ups, 1962 pot codes (250K 92) with small pick up surrounds, small control plate, pick guard with tight radius cut outs, inside date marker (1962). Bass is original, neck joint is solid and action is good. Has original finish with some crazing of the top, some finish fading on the back of the neck, also a very small touch up on the back, at the edge, by a previous owner, will send picture upon request, very minor and very hard to see.  Pick-ups, pick guard, tuners, pots and control panel are all original. Comes with original (black) Hofner case which is still is pretty good shape, handle is great (very unusual) latches, hinges all good, it has some missing tolex,  see pictures. I believe the bass was   originally sold by a Dutch Distributor. If you ever wished you could go back in time and buy the same model 1962 spec bass that Paul played during the 60’s and still does to this day, that Beatle bass sound, then this is it! This is a super rare opportunity to own one of these. I've seen only one for sale in the last 10 years.
