Custom Fender Jazz Bass 1966 Sunburst

1966 Fender Jazz Bass. This all original instrument is one of the cleanest mid sixties Fender basses we have ever seen. All the chrome and nickel still shine and are un-tarnished. The foam pads under the pickups are still supple and pliable, something we almost never see. This is a bound/block Jazz bass from later '66.

To be clear, this bass is all original, electronics, hardware, plastic, and including the pickup and bridge covers. The pick guard has two small repaired cracks, one by the horn and the other at the screw by the control cavity. The case is a brand new, high quality, Fender C & G case as used on Custom Shop offerings.

The neck date is SEP 66. Serial number is 191XXX. The bass weighs 8.9 lbs. with covers removed. The bass has a nice, full neck, bigger than earlier sixties models, measuring .841" at 1st fret, and .995 at 12th fret. Original pickups give nice, healthy readings, 7.3K Ohms for the neck, and 6.7 K Ohms at the bridge.

This is a beautiful, original, clean instrument, that has been properly cared for and stored in a correct environment for its entire life, leaving it in unbelievably great condition.
