Custom Kay Value Leader Bass 1960's Sunburst Finish Funky Cool!

For your consideration today is a very cool 1960's Kay Value Leader Bass. Yup, she's got the Speed Bump" pickup and the cool checkerboard binding. Definitely a cool funky old bass. Now this one has been played so there is a good amount of wear. As you can see in the photos of the back of the headstock, one tuner has been changed. Now the neck is far from straight on this. There is a "ski jump" on the fingerboard starting around the 14th fret. She still plays fine up to that point but craps out once you are past the 14th fret. As Steve Earle would say, there's no money up there anyway! If you want something that plays like a Fender Custom Shop bass, this one is DEFINITELY not for you. But the electronics all work great and has that cool old Howlin Wolf/Jimmy Reed bass sound. Comes with a cheap beat up chipboard case that is missing the handle, but at least she will get there safe.
