Custom Eko Florentine 1960s White

I don't know what exactly is the story behind this old bass. I picked it up at a flea market a couple of years ago with only one string on it from an old couple who had the bass as a wall ornament in their home for over 30 years. The neck angle on it was just awful and even after a fair bit of shimming and adjustments to get the string action nice and low, the poor angle is still obvious. Also, I haven't been able to find a solid body Florentine on the Internet. So I'm just gonna go with the worst possible scenario. Somewhere along the 40 some odd years of this bass' life, its original hollow body fell apart or broke, and whoever was owning it at that point in time had a solid replacement made instead. Its not a very good job, but props to the effort. Most people here would've just chucked it in the trash.

So what's good about this bass? Several things! Keep in mind more than one person kept this thing from reaching the garbage at least. Its got an interesting story behind it. All the hardware and electronics are still original, pots inside are Arco and Lesa both of which are Italian and era-correct. Pickups still work and aren't the least bit weak, they've got that vintage thump. The bass plays fine, it just looks wrong. I urge anyone who's interested to give this bass another chance.
