Custom Gibson EB-4L 72'-75' Walnut Finish

This was my dearly departed husband’s first bass guitar. This is a ‘rare’ Gibson long neck bass that is very difficult to find in this good of condition.  I contacted Gibson directly and they confirmed the model number, but did not have records that far back to track the serial # to pinpoint an exact date of manufacture. It's in decent shape with typical dings here and there for a 1970's instrument. The bass plays very well, with a low action and it's buttery smooth.

Gibson EB-4L FEATURES: This guitar is in good  condition. The color is considered a ‘Walnut finish’. It does need some TLC as it has not been played in over 20 years or more. - –Comes with Case (Case in excellent shape) .

 Serial # 127759-Right above the serial number and impressed in the wood also are the words: Made in the USA.

The EB-4L has a Super Humbucking pickup; Three position tone selector; volume and tone control; new design tune-o-matic bridge with metal inserts; laminated neck with peghead design; Slim neck taper for easy playability; Design Deluxe machine heads; heavy-duty truss rod; foam rubber mute; Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays; solid Body, 1.625 “ fingerboard width at nut; 34 ½ “ scale length; 12 ¾ wide, 16” long, 1 5/16’ thin; 20 frets.

Three Position Tone Switch: the tone switch delivers three distinctively different sounds. Choose from a very deep, extra powerful bass tone; a brilliant, higher pitched response; or a natural, full bass sound.

Three-piece Laminated Neck with Slim Taper: The EB-4L’s neck features extra solid strength plus extra smooth action. The slim neck taper makes it just as easy to reach the highest notes as it is to reach the low notes.

Heavy=Duty Truss Rod: The larger, heavier truss rod helps prevent neck warpage. It gives the neck extra strength to assure perfect alignment at all times.
