Custom Modern Vintage 1989 Alvarez Idaho Bell 5 String Banjo + Hardcase

Modern vintage 1989 Alvarez Idaho Bell 5 string banjo and original hardcase in very good fully functional condition. This is a presentation grade, professional quality built in Japan at the Alvarez custom shop that plays and sounds great.

This instrument is professional quality in every respect and features an ivoroid bound intricately inlaid and laminated mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard. The tonepot is heavy laminated maple with huge brass tone ring. The resonator is solid rosewood with a myriad of fancy inlays. Tuning machines are the original high quality precision planetary units except for replacement brass mounting screws. Chrome plating across instrument is very high quality with only a few very tiny scuffs from handling. The original tailpiece is included with banjo but required replacement so a chrome over brass Presto tailpiece has been installed. The original bridge was missing when I originally received this instrument so a Grover 2 post ebony & maple bridge has been installed. Intonation and sound are excellent.

There are a few very minor almost imperceptible handling marks across the instrument, overall this modern vintage professional grade banjo is in very good condition. A fresh set of Martin light gauge banjo strings have been installed but I'm happy to install whatever gauge strings you prefer and adjust truss rod to compensate. String action is low and frets show little to no wear. Hardcase is high quality and in very good condition as well. This is a very loud, extremely well built instrument in very good condition, you won't be disappointed!
