Vintage Fender 1966 Sunburst Jazz Bass! All original parts, pieces and case, just the way you want it. No excuses or story's need to be told. This is a later '66, with a bound neck and block inlays. Not by any means a case queen. This ol' girl worked for a living, and you can still feel the life in it as soon as its picked up. Like an old wallet, or shoes, it feels broken in - not broken. The vintage nitro finish is well worn, especially around the edges (typical) and bare wood is exposed in a few spots. A "C " shaped comfortable neck and narrow 1.5 inch nut width that's a favorite of J bass players, and 6-stringers that pick up the bass now and again. First year of CBS ownership, and still has the feel of the early '60s models in a more affordable package. That makes this a great choice for the player that craves the sound and feel of a vintage classic, that does not need to be kept in a static-free safe room with armed guards. Overall, the condition IS very good despite the wear and tear mojo. It is a great player as you'd expect, and nobody needs to be told how great these sound. It's also a nice light weight example (less than 9 lbs). With the cost of boutique and custom shop guitars going up (but not there resale value), why not go for the original?
