Cigar Box Guitar

This is a handcrafted instrument inspired by old Americana, blues, and folk. This cigar box guitar has four strings and is tuned to Open G. The fret board is very comfortable and the action is low. This is an acoustic/electric guitar, you can plug it into a guitar amp with a standard guitar cable.

It would make a great gift for music, guitar or cigar aficionados. Nice little instrument and a sure piece for conversation.

Guitar details:

Body: I used an "Arturo Fuente magnum" cigar box. The box size is 11 x 6 by 2 inches. It has a beautiful tone, either acoustic or amplified. 
Neck and fingerboard: The neck is made from mahogany, the fingerboard is redwood and has bamboo dot markers inlaid in it. 
Strings: I used the standard first 4 strings from an acoustic set. You can leave these ones on, or try your own combination and tuning.
Bridge: I make this myself laminating redwood, walnut, and Corian.
Tuning: Open G, you can use this tuning or re-tune it to your preference
Scale: I used a 22 ½ inches scale from nut to bridge 
Frets: I used "zero fret" right on top (next to the nut) no buzzing and excellent playability. the action is low enough to play finger-style up and down the neck. It can also be played with a slide (see my bottleneck slides). 
Amplification: a piezo pickup mounted inside the box, under the bridge.
