Custom 1966-67 Sekova Vulcan Bass Fujigen Teisco

Well, here's something you don't see every day, a Vulcan bass!  Yes, that was the name of this monster as it appeared in the old Sekova catalog of 1967.  I haven't seen one of these for sale in many years, but the last two I saw sold for over $600!  There must be some sort of current bass player gigging with these, because there is a demand for them.  Who knows... anyway here is an original that has a few nicks, scratches, etc.  But it's all structurally solid with a working pickup.  This bass has a lot of low end thump, projects like a cannon!  It was made in the late 60s by Fujigen, a company that is still making guitars currently!  For those who don't know, Fujigen was the company that made all the Fender Japan guitars from the early 80s to the mid 90s.

This guitar will need a complete set-up/clean-up to get it working as a stage worthy guitar.  The electronics are scratchy, but the pickup works.  The neck will need a shim to get some good action (loosen the truss rod, place the shim, string it up, tighten the rod, etc.).  Unless you want to hang it on the wall, then it will need some work.  Please be aware of this before you offer or decide to buy, ok?  The back of the guitar was either refinished or touched up or a clear coat was added... something going on back there.  I didn't even notice it until today when I took the pics!  And I've had this bass for years! Ha!

I've gotten to the point where I'm worn out from repairing and setting up basses, especially since I don't really play the bass!  So I'm going to be listing a bunch of vintage bass guitars here to clear out my workshop.  I just keep putting these projects off and I'd rather have the space, and really it would make me happy to see someone play these!  I was buying a lot of vintage guitars when I wrote my book, and these are some of the last basses I have.
