A Bacon & Day Tenor Banjo

The story is, my grandfather gave me a literal pile of instruments from his basement, and this beauty happened to be in the pile.

I've done some researching, and it seems to be from the 1920s. There is a 4 digit number on the center block. That number is the serial number, and that number popped up in the catalog from that era.

This banjo is gorgeous and a wonderful piece of history, but due to my lack of banjo skills and being a lefty, I have no use for it. I want to get it to someone who will get many hours of enjoyment out of it.

Some TLC will be required. The head has not been changed since the 60s (see date on back of head, I believe it is my great-grandmother's handwriting), the tuners are a bit stiff and it needs new strings. I would do this myself, but I don't want to hurt anything for the next person.

Comes with the original case, but be warned: the case has seen better days. It will probably come with a few tie-wraps and bungee cords to make sure it stays true in shipping.
