Welcome to Musicdungeon, you are looking at a great piece. This is the Ibanez SRFF805 Fanned Fret Electric Bass. 33.6" to 35.5" scale length. 1.77" nut width. .84" 5th fret depth. 8lbs.

The Fanned Fret SRFF805 from Ibanez is a stunning example of their bass-building wizardry.

The ash body follows the famous SR series contours and is finished in a black satin stain. This thin stain allows the wood to breath and vibrate freely and naturally contributes to the very open and resonant tone of this bass.

The SRFF has a piano-like acoustic tone, with excellent attack and projection. The 5-strings format provide a wide tonal and scalar range, creating an instrument of vast dynamic expression.

All this wonderful bass tone is captured by a pair of Bartolini BH1 pickups for a full and punchy tone. The BH1 features coils with a lower resonant frequency to provide tighter bottom end and a fuller midrange. The dual-coil configuration maximizes articulation and a long blade pole piece widens the magnetic field for balanced string-to-string response. An active 3-band EQ with Bypass switch and Mid-Frequency switch allow for precise tonal control.

The neck on the SRFF805 is a masterpiece. It is a 5-piece jatoba and bubinga work of art that is capped with a beautiful rosewood fretboard. The fanned fret array, beyond being visually captivating, is designed to achieve a balance string tension across the variant gauges for an more alive and open tone. Additionally, the fanned layout is ergonomically correct to the hand and finger angle as the player pivots at the elbow, shifting position up and down the neck.

Playing the SRFF805 is nothing short of a revelation. To further dial in perfect string tensions the SRFF805 is fitted with the Mono-Rail V bridge which allows for independent positioning and intonation of each string.
