This Squier Jazz Bass was made in Japan back when the MIJ Squier instruments were the $#!+. The build quality at that time was superior which has helped these instruments hold their value and then some over the years and develop quite a cult following.

This one has a few miles on but is all in all in pretty good shape. it's not 100% original and has an upgraded Fender Heartfield heavy duty, quick string release bridge, a Fender MIJ covered bridge pickup, as well as some "hook" string retainers on the E and A strings to get a consistent break angle over the nut. Dunlop Straplock buttons and a nylon strap with the straplocks rounds out the add-ons.

It has a significant scratch on the back of the neck (Damn drum hardware!, see picture 16) that I've played on for many years without issue, but if it bothers you, it could be filled and blended easily by a luthier that has much better repair skills than me.

There are few scuffs and dings on the top. There are some screw holes in the pickguard where it had a chrome pickup cover on it. There's an extra set 'cause I moved it a bit south to feel better where I rested my right hand thumb to play.

There's a dent below left of the neckplate and some scratches on the lower left back. New string drag scratches south of the bridge. You can see them all in the photos. Beyond that, it has the normal wear and tear that you'd expect after many years of use.

The neck and frets are still in good shape. The neck shape is as close to a '62 Jazz Bass shape as I can find out there. Hot rod it with some new pickups, CTS pots and and a BadAss bridge and it'd be smokin'!

Feels good, plays good and sounds good. I am selling it with a grey Squier gig bag. Just shy of 30 years old, she's still looking and working great for for a little piece of Fender history.
