Custom Sunn Bass or Guitar Amp Amplifier + 2 JBL Cab Rare Collectable Vintage Model 240-C-60 circa 1966

Marvin Kay's Music in Jacksonville FL was the first place I saw these amps. They were being eyed by the Rolling Stones that day as they walked through the store buying sticks, strings etc before their Coliseum show.
The first time I heard them, they were being used at every position by the Buffalo Springfield, the orange lamps projecting spots onto the ceiling as they opened for the Beach Boys --- They sounded fantastic!

 Up for sale is my SUPER RARE, 1966, Sunn model 2-40/C60, (pre 200S), all purpose amplifier and matching speaker cabinet. This amp sold in 1966 for almost $1,000.00 that would be $7,437.89 today.
This is 1 of about 100 of the very first Sunn amps and cabs ever built with the top mounted controls, split power and preamp, it uses a Dynakit 60 watt Dyna Mark III power amp and PAS-I pre amp.
It is the gray tolex, only 50 or so units were made during this time, late 1965 to late 1966, at that time Sunn had only 4 different model amps which consisted of only 2 tops and 4 bottoms, one amp with 2-EL-34 tubes, 40 watts and one amp with 2- 6550 tubes with 60 watts--- speakers cabs were the 2-40, deep cab with 2 JBL D-140F bass speakers, the 1-40 with one JBL D-140F bass speaker and the thinner 2-30 and 1-30 cabs with the JBL D-130F guitar speakers. Amp has 2 inputs, along with 2 speaker output jacks located on the back panel of the amp, top panel has volume, treble, bass controls and 1 each bass and treble boost switch, black panel has the ORANGE Sunn Pilot Light and the Sunn Smiley Face logo.
The amp is all stock original, including the hard plastic handle, (not usable to lift amp). This amp uses 2-6550 power tubes and a 5AR4 rectifier to put out a truly conservative 60 watts, it sounds great with both guitar and bass. The matching speaker cabinet is all stock original and in great shape with the 2 original JBL D-140F bass speakers which are only a few serial numbers off.
The amp/cab is not perfect, but it is great sounding and it's rare to find a matching set in this condition.
Do Not ask me to break the set up, respect.
