Hand made 3 string cigar box guitar. Here are the specifics:
Vintage La Palina wooden Senators cigar box.Oak neck with Cherry Fretboard.Medium/medium hand pressed frets.Bone nut100 year old Vermont barnwood bridge with Oak saddle.Spoon tailpiece.Maple volume knob.Piezo 27mm pickup.When I received this box the top was cracked. I fixed it to original stability with inside bracing and Titebond glue. The entire guitar was finished with eight coats of semi-gloss tung oil. Construction was accomplished using mostly hand tools. The fret dots were made from old credit cards and scrap leather. I tried to replicate (with the exception of the pickup) the construction of the original cigar box guitars of the 1920's and 30's. Yes, there are blemishes which would compare with the time period and conditions I was attempting to re-create. None of these affect the playability of the guitar. Sounds great when plugged into a small tube amp - lots of grit and mojo. Could also be used for a piece of art.
