There are many issues that cause poor intonation and TunaUke Technology solves them all. With this new technology there is over a 90% improvement! For the first time ever in the history of the instrument you can overcome all the obstacles and have a ukulele that plays open chords in tune all the way up the neck.

The sweet tone of the ukulele has been heard around the world - from the most prestigious stages to the most remote beaches, leaving a smile everywhere it goes! In the midst of all of that joy however, one problem has always remained - ukuleles have terrible intonation! Play a simple chord and a ukulele sounds beautiful - but play something more advanced, play with other instruments, or move further up the neck and the problem becomes clear. If the ukulele was to claim and keep its place as a world-class instrument, its intonation must be fixed. Three years, and a fleet of mechanical engineers later, Lanikai Ukuleles is proud to present TunaUke, a revolutionary system that improves ukulele intonation by 90% and opens a new world of possibilities for writing, performing, and simply enjoying a more-musical ukulele than ever before.

The first is the compensated nut. Between the four strings the differences in string width and tension are substantial. By compensating the distance between the first fret and the nut we are able to make open chords sound as smooth as silk.

The second feature is the movable saddle. Traditional straight saddles on a ukulele or any other fretted instrument are detrimental to good intonation. With nylon strings even "compensated saddles" are a complete fallacy. The issue is that nylon strings are by their nature, inconstant. After much testing we found the only way to improve on this is to create movable saddle technology to allow the player to adjust the amount of compensation for each string. No tools are required and adjusting the intonation is as easy as pouring milk on cereal.

We ship item same day and no later than 24 hours (business). Free shipping may be any carrier we will choose based on cost. If you would like guarantee FedEx ground, please contact us.
We double box all of our guitar packages accept broken/for parts guitars. (Broken are still wrapped/boxed well). When you get your guitar, it will be packed in many layers, we use 3-4 layers cardboard between your guitar and the outside world. Each guitar is carefully wrapped in bubble wrap (unless gig bag is included). We also use heavy packing paper in the inner box around the guitar AND more packaging in the outer box, bubble and/or packaging paper. (Always ask your seller how they pack and if they insure. some actually ship in a single flimsy box). Guitars in hardshell cases are pack differently, but packaged well.
UPS, FedEx and USPS require adequate packaging, which is noted as 2” of padding all the way around and double boxing for fragile items. We prefer USPS shipping sometimes it's a little slower, but USPS also has never damaged or lost any of the hundreds guitars we have shipped. (FedEx-faster) Email with any questions about shipping.
Do not throw away packaging until you are sure you are keeping the guitar and it is not damaged.
Shipping is non-refundable, it's how we keep our prices as low as possible. Actual shipping charges will be deducted if returned. We always choose the least expensive (safest too).
