Vintage Antique 1927 Wizard 19 Fret Tenor Banjo + Hardcase in fully functional good condition. This high quality American made vintage banjo is set up with fresh set of Dunlop strings and tuned to GDAE and plays and sounds good.

This antique New York City built banjo from 1927 is built from solid mahogany with center laminate maple seam neck with deep vee neck profile and high quality mahogany tonepot and with heavy nickel plated flanged with double bound mahogany resonator with cool inlaid marquetry.

This pro level instrument is built to a higher quality level than your typical Harmony or Supertone banjo of that era with thicker, more durable nickel plating. The instrument also features it's original calfskin head and hardware, cool bound rosewood fretboard with fancy fret position markers, pearloid topped headstock, and a pretty cool antique warship decal on the resonator.

The original tuning machines were missing so a modern set of professional quality nickel plated Schaller geared tuners (my absolute favorite brand) have been installed which work wonderfully. Otherwise this instrument is all original. The resonator has a small seam separation at the neck input slot but this is only a small cosmetic issue that doesn't affect playability or sound and the seam hasn't moved at all. Additionally, the neck has a slight amount of extra relief from years of string tension, like an extra 1 or 2mm at most, but again playability is unaffected (the deep vee neck shape does a great job of keeping this neck straight and playable). Hardcase is original to the instrument and in decent shape.
