Custom Fender Precision Bass Plus

 ender Precision Bass Plus( AKA "The Boner Bass") is rarer than the Jazz Bass Plus, it has a P/J pickup configuration.
The P Bass plus was designed by George Blanda in 1989, one of the first American-made Fender basses to feature a 22-fret neck. They are sometimes called "Boner" basses because of the longer horns required to get good balance due to the 22 fret necks. It features a 1-piece maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, adjustable Lace Sensor Precision and Jazz pick up, Schaller deluxe die-cast tuning machines, 3-ply parchment pickguard, Schaller Elite fine-tuning bridge, 3-way toggle pickup switch, master volume, series/parallel push-push button for the neck pickup and master TBX tone switch.
The serial number and decal were "intellectual property" left overs from CBS when Fender Musical Instrument Corporation got it in 1984. They used them up on instruments built in the later 80's. The Elites and P Bass Plus have the same Schaller bridge and headstock tuners. The consensus is Fender used the decals and hardware left over from the Elites for the Pbass. Plus until they ran out of decals around 1990.
