Amazing 1981 Fender P Bass in Olympic White finish! Nothing has been changed or modified on the bass except for the pickguard was replaced with another vintage pickguard with a 1978 serial # sticker onit (and still correct for this era). Other than that, it's all original down to the last screw! The original Olympic White finish has yellowed over the years and looks great. It has some finish wear, dings and scratches here and there, but overall very nice condition for its age! The original pickups are very strong and loud, and the bass sounds and plays incredibly nice! No issues, no cracks or repairs, no modifications. It's also very lightweight for this era, at only 9.6 lbs. (many from the late '70s and early '80s weigh in the 10-12 lb. range)!

The "S9" serial # on the headstock would usually be considered 1979, but "S8" & "S9" necks were commonly used up to about '83. This bass has a date sticker in the neck pocket that dates to 08-20-81, and pots confirm '81 as well.

The neck's straight, truss rod works fine, action is very nice and low with great playability all across the board. No dead or buzzy notes anywhere. It's also really resonant, nicely balanced, and just a pleasure to play. The frets are original and in great shape with lots of life left.

Pickup codes are hard to read, but looks like the last digits are "81", indicating 1981. Correct, original green bobbins and original windings.
All solder joints are original and untouched!
