Product Description

For sale here is a mid 1960's Vox solid body violin bass made by Eko in Italy, serial number 212544, in excellent condition. These basses are very rare. It is fully original, and plays and sounds great. The neck is straight and the original frets are in excellent condition. The fingerboard width is 1 11/16-inches at the string nut, and the neck depth is a medium thick rounded C-shape. It appears to have the original flat-wound strings on it, which contributes to the frets having no noticeable divots.

There are no cracks in the body or neck or headstock repairs or issues of any kind. The last photo shows the only significant nick in the finish, found on the bottom rim's side. Inside the original case we found an original Jennings Music polishing cloth, original instructional hangtag, a pocket purse with the VOX logo and some old picks inside, and an original psychedelic-patterned cloth strap.

This fine vintage Vox Bass weighs just 7-pounds, 14.5 ounces, and comes in its original grey Vox guitar case that is also in excellent condition.

Choose 'Buy It Now' and we pay all shipping in the continental U.S., and half the mailing costs overseas. Shipping to Australia is expensive to fit a full size bass-length instrument with proper packing inside a guitar box, because it then has to be shipped Fed-Ex. But, if an Aussie is willing to accept this Bass with the neck unbolted and shipped inside a folded gig bag and packed inside a shorter packing box, so as to meet priority mail dimensional requirements, the shipping is also free if he chooses 'Buy It Now. Otherwise shipping overseas will cost $139. We of course must then keep the original hardshell case.
