Custom Schagerl Bb Rotary Trumpet, Gold-Plated, RARE

Impress your friends with this beautiful gold plated Schagerl rotary trumpet. Everyone knows Schagerl is one of the top rotary trumpet makers. I purchased this from a reputable German brass shop.

It is in excellent condition. There are a few minor scratches and blemishes as I have indicated in the pictures.  Normal signs of having been played. It was recently chemically cleaned, pads replaced, and valves aligned. It is well-maintained.  

The third valve slide trigger is well-positioned and works great. The valves are smooth, and the compression is excellent. This trumpet has a nice warm tone and good intonation. It plays evenly between high and low registers. It plays nicely at piano volume, and when you need to sing, play loud, or project, it is mesmerizing. For example, I recently performed Sorcerer's Apprentice, 1st trumpet part, and it was literally mesmerizing.

I would say this is ideal for the chamber music setting (10-15 violins). With the right mouthpiece, this would work well in a larger Orchestra (30-50 violins).

This model is a mystery in the US, where it was never sold.  It was produced and sold very briefly in Europe, possibly because of cost or lack of demand.  The gold plating may indicate this trumpet was a demonstrator model, or someone loved it.  Regardless, it is extremely rare.  All speculation, but a fun conversation piece!

Although this is of the Academica (Intermediate) series, this price is justified given its condition, quality, and gold plating. No case or mouthpiece is included.
