Ibanez first introduced the SoundGear basses 30 years ago, and today, they remain one of the world's most-played and affordable basses. This SR305EB Navy Metallic Electric Bass is a perfect example of that playability and affordability. It features a five piece maple and rosewood SR5 bolt on neck, a lightweight mahogany body, and PowerSpan Dual Coil passive neck and bridge bass pickups with an Ibanez custom active 3-band EQ with a 3 way “Power Tap” switch. The ergonomically smooth, fast neck is perfectly comfortable, allowing effortless extended-range travel. The 3-band EQ works in conjunction with a coil tap switch for maximum control over a wide variety of professional bass tones. The “Tap Mode” (single coil) creates a punchy, dynamic sound with superior articulation, while the “Series Mode” (humbucking) delivers a full, warm tone. The Power Tap Mode provides the best of both worlds, combining the clarity of the single coil with the fat bottom end of the humbucker. The exposed pole pieces of the PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups produce a stronger signal, and increase the response of the higher frequencies without sacrificing low end. The result is a tone rich in harmonic detail and dynamic expression. The modern lightweight body and perfectly matched electronics offer up the fat tones that have made the Ibanez SR basses an industry standard.
