Custom Rickenbacker 4003S/5 5 String Bass 1986 Super Rare

Ish Guitars is proud to offer a very rare bass from 1986: the Rickenbacker 4003S/5. 5 String basses were few and far between in the 80's, so this is an interesting piece of history. The very cool metallic red color is also seldom seen on a Rickenbacker.

This bass is all original including original case. It has some minor wear and buckle rash - in very good condition for 1986. It is a 1-owner instrument. The tailpiece seems to have been screwed into the body with a few extra screws, as it was common for these 5 string basses to bend the rear of the tailpiece from the extra tension. Its rare to find one that has not had the tailpiece bent!

The string spacing is quite close together, so this bass is great for picking and fast finger style playing. You can't go wrong with the Rickenbacker sound - especially with a low B involved!

Build in April of 1986. Just setup and restrung by our tech. Original case included. This bass will go quick, get it before its too late - you won't find another!
