Too many basses! This one is rather redundant, so it has to sadly go.
From the golden era of Ibanez comes this January of 1983 metallic black Japanese monster that isn't seen too often in the wild. Clearly a nod to the Stingray, it cops the general attitude and tone of one or a G&L Kiloton. It's passive with a Tri-Sound switch to do series/split/parallel. The J6 pickup is in the Stingray sweet spot and sounds really, really good-parallel mode is very Stingray, series is thick sounding!

The original AccuCast BII bridge is a really nice, hi mass design. The straight neck has a thinner P feel to it that is comfy for Jazz bass guys, too. It's 1 5/8" (41mm) wide at the nut and 2 1/4" (57mm) wide at the 12th fret. .775" (19.5mm) thick at the 1st fret and .965" (24.5mm) thick at the 12th fret. A really comfortable profile. The frets show some wear, but have about 80% of life left in them. Great looking rosewood fingerboard and alder/birch body.

This was a rescue/restore with no hardware or nut on the neck, so I installed brand new Grover Titan tuners, a Fender style string tree and a bone nut. The tuners were the closest replacement to the hyper rare and expensive Velve Tune BII I could find. They dropped in without reaming the holes. The original knobs were missing so black metal domes are present and this has Schaller Straplock buttons, they show wear, but work perfectly. The rear control plate is also a replacement. The tone pot and cap are also direct replacements.

This does show 33 years of wear and tear--this bass is not for the picky collector but more for the pragmatic player. There are numerous scratches, dents and dings that result from a great feeling and sounding bass being played a lot. Both strap button locations show redrills. It plays great, balances nicely and weighs 8 pounds, 12 oz which is great for a 3 hour gig. This is a really killer bass, a workhorse that won't let you down. Japanese quality, major bang for the buck. Comes with a nice Ibanez gig bag made by Levys. I will include all the necessary allen wrenches as well. The round wound strings are in OK shape, it's set up and ready to play.
