Custom 1959 Fender Precision Bass Sunburst One Owner, Super Clean!

We were very excited when this unbelievable 1959 Fender P Bass came walking into our shop. This bass was purchased new by the original owner and played for a few years before being forgotten about in a closet for the last 40 years or so and it is in immaculate condition. This bass appears to have been refinished at the Fender factory in the early 1960s which is evident when you look at the headstock decal and color of the burst. It is very possible that this one never actually left the factory and was just updated and shipped in the early 60s but we will probably never know the true story. Everything on this bass is consistent with 1959 including the first year tortoise shell guard which has no cracks or missing pieces. The electronics are completely untouched and original and they function perfectly with the slight exception of the jack. It probably needs to be re-soldered but we wanted to leave that to the next owner to decide. 

There are several small dings which you can see in the pics but otherwise the condition is almost unheard of on this bass. The original frets are in great shape and the action is phenomenal. At 8lbs 8oz, this bass is super comfortable to play both standing and sitting and it sounds absolutely amazing. Just plug it in and play a few notes and you will be blasted back to the early days of rock and roll and Motown! 

We have been in the vintage guitar business for many years and this is a once in a decade type of instrument. You may never see one again on the open market that is this clean!
