Custom Aria Diamonds Beatle/violin 1960's 3 Tone Sunburst

Here is an Aria Diamonds violin bass in excellent shape, both cosmetically and electronically.  The Aria Diamonds badge was manufactured in Japan in the mid 60's and into the 70’s These basses were produced at the Matsumoku factory in Japan.

The Aria bass showcased here has a 30 ½ " scale, three-tone  sunburst, a violin body shape that is a Hofner 500/1 clone and similar to certain sister badge models made by Matsumoku, including Greco, Conrad and others. Additional appointments include 22 frets, two single coil pickups that are controlled by a 3 position toggle switch,  Volume knob, and tone control knob, a 2 part wooden bridge with adjustment wheels in place, no control panel plate, white pickguard and rosewood thumb rest. Original chrome tailpiece.

 The action is low and plays great.  Original chrome tuners. Headstock logo intact. No buzzing, frets are fine, truss rod works in both directions. The neck has a rosewood fingerboard, fully bound with dot inlay. There are no dings on the clear varnished headstock. The varnished neck is flawless.

The electronics work perfectly with nice sounding pickups, excellent tonal variation, control pots work as they should. Original gold volume and tone knobs.

The body is in excellent shape, without a ding or scratch.  There is no checking of the finish except a few lines by the toggle. With a deep sunburst finish, the bass looks beautiful.

It is strung with round wound strings for this sale, sounds bright.

Original chipboard case, in good vintage shape, one latch missing, perfectly serviceable.
