Fender has combined great materials and modern features with craftsmanship and expertise to produce the American Professional Jazz Bass, a truly contemporary instrument. Starting with a light weight alder body that delivers a balanced sound, and a fast playing, slim modern “C”-shaped maple neck with a 9.5" radius rosewood fingerboard for warmth; Fender added two V-Mod single-coil Jazz Bass pickups and a HiMass vintage bridge. The V-Mod single-coil Jazz Bass pickups, designed by Michael Bump, offer the natural tones and warmth of older pickups, but also deliver the dynamic range and clarity necessary for wonderful sustain and articulation. And, to increase that level of sustain and articulation, a 1.5" bone nut, 20 narrow-tall frets and a HiMass vintage bridge, that can be strung top-loaded or through body, have been added to transfer more of the string's energy to the body of the instrument. To keep the neck stable and straight, a set of Posiflex graphite rods have been installed, and topped off with a set of lightweight vintage-style tuning keys with tapered shafts. The American Professional Jazz Bass is the latest incarnation of America's favorite bass.
