Product Description

This is a handmade 5 string bass by Martin Keith. I purchased this spectacular instrument from the luthier himself about 3 years ago. It has served me extremely well be it in the studio or on stage. However, as is the fate of many working musicians, sadly the time has come for me to part with it.
So I'm hoping someone can find the same joy I found in growing with this phenomenal bass.

ELFIN 5 - AAA FLAMED ENGLISH MAPLE
"Blonde on Blonde"

This Elfin 5-string is a very upscale take on the classic ash/maple combination. The Northern Ash body has a top-shelf Flame English Maple top, set off with a black 'pinstripe' veneer.

The maple neck is just as dressed up, with an incredible birdseye maple fingerboard. This is some of the best birdseye figure I've ever seen. The black pinstripe continues up the neck edge, through the position dots, and around the flame maple headpiece veneer.

Lace BassBar pickups and an 18 volt Bartolini 2-band EQ let the ash body sing with its natural, thick bottom and punch. The high end is sweet and open, without the harshness or excessive 'snap' that sometimes characterizes this mix of woods.
