I bought this bass new in 2013. Great sounding bass, just not my style.

Features include 16.5mm string spacing at the bridge, boost/cut for Bass, Mids, and Treble, and a Mid Frequency selector switch between 250hz and 600hz. There is no passive option. Neck is 5 piece Jatoba and Bubinga. Fretboard is Rosewood. 24 Frets, Abalone inlays.

Batteries last between 4 weeks and 3-6 Months depending on how often you practice plugged in (battery only engaged when plugged in).

Action is low, the neck is straight, and the truss rod is fully operational. Everything functions beautifully on this bass. 

The body has an oil finish, and is open pore Mahogany (I think it's just a flame Maple veneer). The finish looks fantastic under stage lights, and like most figured wood grain gives the impression of depth. Like any other 505, the low B string is nice and full, not rattly, and clear as day.  

Currently Strung with Elixir Nanowebs.
