Custom HOFNER 500/1 RARE 1960'S BROWN SUNBURST

1963 HOFNER "CUSTOM MADE" BEATLE BASS- This guitar is coming out of my personal collection. The guitar is in MINT/NEW shape. This bass has a very interesting history. First of all, I got ahold of a friend of mine that had connections to Hofner in the late seventies, early eighties.  They in turn got ahold of Christian Benker who at the time was running Hofner.  We purchased some vintage basses from Christian, and put all original Hofner parts- tuners-pickups, control panel- everything that was from an original 1962-63 Hofner basses, on the vintage bodies we got from Hofner. We made them "left handed" to emulate Paul McCartneys bass. Hofner sunburst brown in color, it has the “Raised” Hofner logo, four separate tuners, a two piece neck, SMALL PICKUP SURRONDS, WITH STAPLE/SCREW PICKUPS. and CONTROL PANEL . Pearloid pickguard and control panel. Rosewood fingerboard with NO BINDING ON THE NECK (LIKE PAULS). BASS IS IN MINT/NEVER PLAYED CONDITION, AND BEEN IN MY COLLECTION SINCE THEN. (Back then I don't know if Hofner was even importing basses to America- and I know for a fact they weren't producing a replica of Pauls bass )

In conclusion, this guitar is really a great bass. It’s really hard to find one in this condition, and with all the MCCARTNEY FEATURES. My old saying is “If you can find another guitar as nice or nicer, BUY IT”. They don’t come along often, especially now with all the bogus, modified, non original stuff on guitars nowadays.
