Custom 1914 Vintage Gibson F-2 Mandolin Reddish- brown with Original Hardshell Case

Gibson introduced the F-2 mandolin in 1902. This particular instrument was made in 1914. It still has the right angle tuners with inlaid tuner buttons, single-bound top and fingerboard, as well as The Gibson peghead inlay. All of these features were added in 1904. By 1910 the original 3-point body became a 2-point body. It sports the original reddish, slightly shaded finish.

This mandolin is in excellent playing condition and is extremely loud and well balanced. Condition wise…there is a 1 3/8” crack on the face of the upper bout. It does not affect the sound and is totally stable. There were two binding repairs with period correct binding and it has a reproduction guard. This F-2 retains its original hard shell case.
