Butch Hall's concert series flutes feature a precision "Nest" (sound plate) under the bird an extremely clear, loud, and clean voice.

This particular flute is fashioned from premium eastern red cedar with a sound plate fashioned from brass. It's in the key of F# minor pentatonic (F#, A, B, C#, E, F#), very easy to play, with a kind of uplifted timbre.

For more advanced playing, other notes are achievable, A#, C, D, D#, F, and G, G# and A in the upper register are easily played with cross fingerings.

Butch Hall flutes are made from a single bored piece of wood, no lamination and chiseling make an extremely consistent flute with no issues of de-lamination. The bird on this flute appears to be walnut and is fixed to the flute with genuine leather cord.
