A vintage-inspired signature Jazz Bass made in honor of one of the most notable names in the world of modern bass: the Fender Flea Jazz Bass.

Fender has teamed up with the one and only Flea to re-create the custom-color vintage '61 Jazz Bass played by the legendary Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist himself. Sent to Flea by one of his fans, Flea's beloved '61 Jazz Bass in Shell Pink can be heard on RHCP's Stadium Arcadium album as well as on their upcoming LP The Getaway. Flea's vintage J-Bass was also used to record with supergroup Atoms For Peace.

Just as Flea's actual bass, the alder body of the Flea Jazz Bass comes dressed in an authentic-style nitrocellulose lacquer finish in Shell Pink (one of Fender's rarest Custom Color finishes) that's been faded and Road Worn to reflect the actual finish shade and play wear of Flea's own bass. The period-correct "C"-shaped maple neck also wears a Road Worn nitrocellulose lacquer finish to provide a genuine old-school, well-played vintage feel and look. Holding true to the original, the rosewood 'board features a vintage-spec 7.25" radius, 20 vintage-style frets, and aged white dot inlays.

The Flea Jazz Bass dishes out those warm vintage tones of the Jazz Basses of yesteryear thanks to a set of American-made Pure Vintage '64 Jazz Bass single-coil pickups. It produces those classic-era Fender tones with exceptional clarity, a well-defined, powerful low-end growl, singing trebles and a nice punchy midrange. Tailor your sound to perfection with the period-correct stacked concentric control knobs featuring independent Volume and Tone controls for each pickup.
