Keith Roscoe makes some amazing instruments. They're elegantly sculpted, well balanced, comfortable & feature great attention to detail but most importantly the playability & sound is amazing! This one has a figured box elder top on a one-piece ash body and man, does it sound great. One might go as far as to say that it sounds incredible. It's very clear & touch sensitive but muscular. It has a big round bottom with plenty of top end cut that never sounds brash. The mids are smooth when it's played with a light touch but get fatter & snarlier as one digs in. This bass is equally impressive slapped or played finger style.

When a bass is too light it can sound thin or wispy but if it's too heavy it can lose warmth, depth & overtones. At 9 pounds 2 ounces this bass is right in the sweet spot. It has the perfect combination of punch & openness that can elevate an instrument from the ranks of the mere serviceability to the level of greatness.

Bartolini pickups & 18 volt 3 band NTMB preamp provides fat musical tones with a wealth of flexibility. Subtly fine tuning the natural sound of the instrument or altering it drastically are equally simple. 3 piece maple & purpleheart neck with 24 perfectly crowned frets & a hand cut diamond wood nut. The paduak fingerboard walks the line between rosewood & ebony in both tone & feel with grace. 35" scale helps keep the B string focused. Deep cutaway makes access to even the highest frets effortless.
