This is a 2014 Laredo I bought last year. I intended on keeping it. But what I have discovered is that I have limited need for it in a live setting and so it's been sitting in the case.

I didn't like the idea of a pick up selector. It was too stark and not nearly as versatile as it should be. So I had my brother (who really quite accomplished with electronics) modify the controls. Using 100% Rickenbacker parts, he replaced the 3 position pickup selector with another volume pot. The bass now has that same set up we've all come to love on the good old Fender Jazz Basses!

Having independant volume controls enables you to run the pickups on their own volume pot thereby giving you infinitely more output options whether it be to achieve better output balance or to accentuate pickups in either position.  This is what makes this bass uniquely different from ALL OF THE OTHER Laredos on this site.

Finally, I decided to splurge on their nice $250 silver deluxe cases. It's pictured in the photos.
